A Macedon Ranges author has joined with three other writers to create an anthology of romance stories.

Romsey’s Sarah Fiddelaers is one of the co-authors of Easter Promises – a collection of four stories set in the first half of the 20th century.

Fiddelaers said each story was about love, hope, humour and faith.

“The stories feature strong women overcoming the obstacles of their time to pursue their dreams, and, of course, find love,” she said.

The anthology follows Fiddelaers’ first novel which was shortlisted for last year’s Richell Prize for Emerging Writers.

“It came about after my co-authors and I met at the Romance Writers of Australia conference last August. We were all polishing and submitting our first novels and decided to give ourselves a project to keep our minds busy during the long wait between submission and response from publishers,” Fiddelaers said.

“There is absolutely something for everyone. What I’ve loved about working with my co-authors is that we all have a deep love of history that we’ve bought to the page in such different ways.

“The smaller size of the stories make perfect night time reading; each story is a delicious treat before bed that only takes a night or two to finish.”

Easter Promises is available at Sunbury Collins or Read Door Books in Lancefield.
