IN FOCUS: Plenty of room for the best service

Kym Schubert, manager of Storage King Sunbury, says she loves her job and that looking after varied customer needs keeps her on her toes.

She’s a people person who relishes a chat and has a strong focus on treating clients like family, listening carefully to their needs.

“We’re seeing a big upswing in the need for self-storage units of all sizes,” Kym says. “We have large units for storing furniture and the like, but also small ones, which are great for people who want to safely store valuables during bushfire season. Or people use them to safely store priceless family treasures while they’re away travelling.”

Storage King, operating in Sunbury for the past 20 years, isn’t just about the storage units. It’s also the place for packaging supplies when moving house, from bubble wrap to large cartons and everything in between.

The packaging range is also handy when sending articles overseas. In fact, the Sunbury storage specialist has an international parcel service on site. Parcels of more than 200 kilograms can be handled here, exceeding what can be managed through a post office.

When it comes to moving house, Storage King provides a furniture removal service – both trucks and removalists.

“Anyone would agree that moving house is a stressful time, but we’re ready to make it as hassle-free as possible,” Kym says. “Assistant manager Loredana and I will do all we can to ease the load.

“It’s something we both enjoy. The office is open six days a week so at least one of us is available to discuss and organise everything.”

The storage units are accessible to clients every day and they are alarmed, with the site monitored 24/7.

Kym is available after hours for emergencies that may arise.

A Sunbury resident for 27 years, Kym feels she knows the town very well and is keen to support her community.

“We try to help and sponsor worthwhile groups and organisations,” she says. “We currently sponsor Kruz for Kids, a group that does amazing work for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal. We also sponsor Sunbury’s Neighbourhood Kitchen, which is run by volunteers to help people in need.”

Storage King Sunbury, 18 Anderson Road, Sunbury. Opens 8.30am-5.30pm Monday-Friday and 9am-3pm Saturday. Access hours: 6am-8pm daily. Inquiries: 9744 6888
