IN FOCUS: Health support for everyone

Macedon Ranges Health has delivered a comprehensive range of services to the Macedon Ranges community and surrounding districts for more than 60 years. As a local community and health organisation backed by Victorian aged care provider Benetas, the organisation supports the health needs of people from infancy through to old age.

Starting as a bush nursing hospital, Macedon Ranges Health now provides a suite of clinical and holistic services to meet the evolving needs of those in our community, says regional business manager, Yvonne Campbell.

“We offer an extensive range of high-quality public and private health care – with everything from psychology and social support through to continence nursing and home care.

“Our aim is to ensure people in their homes, as well as in the community, are supported to live the lives they want.”

Macedon Ranges Health provides community members with access to affordable health care through a wide range of government-funded programs that ensure those most in need receive important health services.

“We’re proud to be an NDIS registered organisation,” Mrs Campbell said. “We also work with a number of clients who are on Home and Community Care Programs or have Home Care Packages with the government.

“It’s great to see our clients with a disability or with short-term health care needs receive the care and support to achieve their lifestyle and independence goals.

“Our psychology and counselling services have also developed as mental health awareness has grown in the community. Over the past few years, we’ve been able to introduce new services and programs to continue meeting local needs.

“We also offer a full suite of private allied health services supports that can be subsidised using private health insurance, Medicare rebates and individual funding. These include speech pathology, dietetics, exercise physiology, physiotherapy, podiatry and mental health.”

The organisation is proud to provide a local community space for people to get quality healthcare without travelling long distances.

“Whatever your cultural background, age, gender or social situation, we want to create a safe and welcoming environment and provide an integrated service that meets your personal needs.”
