Malmsbury CFA charity motor show a wheel deal

A show-and-shine featuring a long line of classic cars and motorcycles will help Malmsbury CFA’s quest for a second fire truck.

Prizes for best in show and best by marque will be handed out as part of the September 5 event. There will also be a people’s choice and encouragement awards.

Brigade secretary and fundraising committee chairman Bruce Dolphin says the event will play a major part in efforts to buy a new truck, which will boost the volunteer group’s ability to respond to fires and other emergencies.

Votes for the people’s choice awards will cost a gold coin. Mr Dolphin says car lovers will get plenty in return for their support, with lots of rare vehicles on display.

‘‘We get tremendous support from the community, and when we organise major fundraising events, we try to do it in a way that benefits the whole town,’’ Mr Dolphin says.

‘‘We believe this event will bring hundreds of people to town to see what will be an amazing display of wonderful machines.’’

The show-and-shine will be held in Mollison Street, Malmsbury, from 10am-2pm, on September 5. For entrants’ information or more details, visit motobean.com.au/cfamalmsburyclassic
