Grand day at the hill for Trentham District Primary School

Trentham District Primary School’s music program is to get a key boost from a classy fundraiser.

Music lovers will be treated to a performance of works by Beethoven, Ravel and Jankowski performed by acclaimed chamber ensemble Benaud Trio at Hill House on August 12.

Money raised from the performance will help with the leasing of a baby grand piano for the school.

It will be the second time Susie Kilby has opened her home, overlooking the Mt Macedon and the Cobaw Ranges, for an intimate concert for the cause.

She said the events were about promoting musical education in the community.

“It’s a house that’s in a beautiful location and I like to be able to share the space,” Ms Kilby said. “A group called Music in the Central Highlands, which is no longer active, held a number of concerts here over the past five years to raise funds for the local primary school.

“To carry on the work of the community group, I decided I would organise concerts at the house for musical events.”

The event will start at 2.30pm on August 12 at Hill House, 290 Pearsons Road, Trentham East. Bookings: bit.ly/2ABBn8f
