Acolades for aged care nurse Camille Koch

Camille Koch has reaped the rewards of going that extra mile in her work.

The registered nurse from Macedon Ranges Health took home the individual distinction award at the Health Employees Superannuation Trust Australia (HESTA) aged care awards in Canberra earlier this month.

The awards recognise those in the aged care sector who make exceptional contributions to improving quality of life for older Australians.

Ms Koch was awarded for her role in improving wound management.

She established a multi-disciplinary wounds resource team at Gisborne Oaks residential aged care facility.

There were 14 national finalists celebrated at the August 4 awards ceremony, where the three overall winners were announced. They share in a $30,000 prize pool provided by long-standing awards supporter banking group ME, with each winner receiving $10,000 towards further education or team development.

Macedon Ranges Health chief executive Don Tidbury congratulated Ms Koch on her efforts.

“Macedon Ranges Health is extremely proud to have Camille’s contribution to high quality resident care recognised at a national level,” he said.

“It is a great reflection on the commitment, care and support our people provide to our residents and clients on a daily basis.”
