Rural perfection: 47 Tweddle Road, Gisborne South, 3437

Brampton Park, a property of about
4.05 hectares, is a beautiful place in every respect – from the innately elegant house and stunning gardens to unbeatable pastoral scenery and pristine land for critters or crops.

A journey through solar-powered gates, down a poplar-lined driveway and past a dam edged with willows lands you at the lovely house precinct – where a green thumb’s handiwork puts on an impressive show. It’s really a feast for the eyes at every turn at this fab spread which, incredibly, is within a five-minute trip of Calder Freeway.

Verandahs, dripping with wisteria and grape vines, entirely wrap the house in leafy beauty, while a gable-roofed pergola shelters the front door. Beyond this, a timelessly chic abode unfolds, where slate flooring combines with white or latte wall paint, large garden-view windows are dressed mainly in roman blinds and other decor elements are all-class.

Living areas include a carpeted lounge-dining room, open to the entry walkway; and a gorgeous family-meals space with wood heater (transfer kit) and extensive bespoke cabinetry, plus a sliding door to a covered dining area.

Scads of white vinyl-wrap joinery and a natural-stone island bench to seat four are salient kitchen features, while a walk-in pantry and top-notch shiny appliances are others. The laundry is sleek, stylish and storage-rich.

There’s a study (or fifth bedroom) through double doors, while the four snazzily decorated fitted bedrooms include the main with walk-in robe and glam en suite, fully tiled in a marble look. The same look is in the main bathroom, which also has an ovoid tub and walk-in shower.

Underfloor heating and split-system take care of indoor climate control.

The outdoor treats just keep coming. Lavish, geometrically laid out hedging enclosing standard roses is a standout garden spot, as are the velvet lawns,
riotous cottage plantings and a wonderful array of exotic trees, some rare. A cute chook coop adjoins a run and herbs are in a boxed bed.

Serious stuff includes four electric-fenced paddocks, three dams – one with electric pump, one shared with boundary neighbour – 80,000-litre water tanks, a big hay/machinery shed, cattle yards and crush, a loose box and 12×6-metre workshop.
