Freshly revamped: 28 Wrixon Street, Romsey, 3434

Tucked away behind a high hedge at the end of a cul-de-sac, within a stroll of Main Street shops and a few minutes’ drive of the primary school, this revamped residence is smallish but perfectly formed.

Its facade, featuring grey window shutters and a cheery red door, is loaded with appeal, while the block of about 1270 square metres is home to several mature trees – a giant wattle out back is particularly attractive – and has plenty of space for kids’ play or future personal project.

Behind that red door is a lounge room which has the same plush-new mid-grey carpet as laid in all bedrooms. Wall paint
in bone and pearl-grey shades is also freshly done, as are the bamboo floor planks laid in the kitchen-meals space and the hallway.

The meals zone abutting the kitchen has a wood heater to make winters cosy – a split-system is also provided for year-round climate control, and ceiling fans in most rooms are a welcome inclusion.

The compact, but well-designed, kitchen has creamy-white panelled cabinetry which includes pull-outs and hidden drawers. The enamel butler’s sink, with black tapware matching the cupboard handles, is a treat; the splashback tiles are white subways; benches are in glossy charcoal laminate; and a dishwasher, underbench oven and induction cooktop form a trio of quality appliances.

The next-door laundry (the only untouched room) has an adjoining toilet.

The three fitted bedrooms range along a hallway, as does the fully tiled bathroom with modern vanity and shower.

A glass slider from the meals zone opens to a large concrete patio for setting up in the sunshine or for the kids to have a scoot. On each side of spacious lawn are two garages/sheds, one steel and the other a Colorbond double which has a concrete floor, a wood heater and mezzanine storage.

A horseshoe driveway branches off each side to lead to both garages, one branch under a carport.

Retirees who may love gardening, smaller families looking for easy indoor upkeep and outdoor room to move, and even investors should check this one out.
