Family all-rounder: 59 Robb Drive, Romsey, 3434

Recently snazzed up with new taupe carpet, light wall paint and pearl-grey roller blinds, this brick veneer, on a corner block of about 1585 square metres, has plenty of family appeal. Entertainers will love it, too, for its great outdoor areas.

So will tinkerers for its tri-zone man cave/workshop, and those who want bounty from vegie gardens and fruit trees will dig it. Kids will appreciate the big lawn area for kicking around a footy or a bash on the bat. It’s really an all-rounder.

59 Robb Drive, Romsey, 3434

Beyond a horseshoe driveway and under a verandah, entry is to a small foyer tiled in patterned grey, the same as elsewhere.

To the right, a spacious carpeted lounge room links with a tiled meals zone with a wood heater. This cosy addition has ducted heat exchange all through, while a split-system does its bit year round.

The kitchen, with new white cabinetry, has a corner pantry, a brekkie bar for four, mottled-green laminate benchtops, white splashback tiles and stainless-steel underbench oven, gas cooktop and dishwasher.

To the foyer’s left, along a carpeted hallway, are two large fitted bedrooms, a powder room arrangement, the main bathroom and a European laundry.

At hall’s end comes an L-shaped kids’ playroom with a split-system and TV point, as well as a door to the rear pergola. Next door is another large fitted bedroom.

Zoned at the opposite end of the house, the main bedroom has a door to the pergola, a walk-in robe and a compact
en suite.

That covered pergola, shaded by a muscatel grapevine in summer, is big enough for all the gang. It looks out to dense plantings, as well as a high pittosporum hedge that creates privacy and stylish space definition.

A pathway from here, heading past a deck and spa, ends at a workshop nook
and an atmospheric, fully lined and insulated two-room man cave with split-system.

A paved patio outside the meals area is rimmed with plantings adding their welcome leafiness.

Entered via a sultana grape-clad arbour, the huge side yard (accessible from gates in the side street) is home to all that harvest bounty, and two garden sheds to keep stuff stowed away.

Ahoy, families and investors …
