Big updates, big block: 14 William Street, Romsey, 3434

By Carole Levy

Within a three-minute walk of the shopping precinct and the same time by bike to the primary school and Romsey Recreation Reserve’s playground, tennis courts and sports ovals, this stylishly presented residence has loads going for it.

Beyond fully landscaped gardens and under a porch, entry reveals a place that’s been revamped with dark floor planks and wall paint in a strong shade of grey and a soft latte.

The lounge room is very spacious and looks appealing with an expanse of those floor planks and the striking accent wall. Curtains and pelmets are in a softening floral.

The skylit meals area and adjoining kitchen have the original floor tiles, which add a touch of retro, while the kitchen’s cupboards are in the same shade of strong grey.

Those are topped with new light-toned bamboo benches. Appliances, including a dishwasher, are new as well.

Each of the four spacious fitted bedrooms has floor planks, a great idea for practicality and allergy benefits. The main bedroom has a walk-in robe and an en suite.

The main bathroom, large and bright, has glass-brick windows and a spa for an indulgent soak at the end of the day.

The meals zone opens to a covered alfresco area with paving underfoot. It looks out to a big backyard with a giant old ghost gum putting on a show.

Right at the back there’s a large mulched area that would make a great kids’ playground or a spot to whack in a vegie garden or chook run.

A paved driveway heads to a steel double garage, while other interior features include gas ducted heating and multiple ceiling fans.

The block is a very attractive 1300 square metres or thereabouts.
