A Filmer star: 24 Filmer Place, Riddells Creek, 3431

There’s not a skerrick of this place that isn’t faultlessly presented and dedicated to the spiffy look of today. The family-oriented house is also in a mighty fine spot – the primary school is within a short walk, the station is three by car, and the heart of the village – offering up tasty treats at Mocha Leaf and Seasons cafes and a community hub at the pub – is around the corner.

Beyond a horseshoe driveway and super-neat landscaping, the home’s entry is to a sandstone-tiled hallway where the dove-grey walls kick off the consistent colour palette. On the left, there’s a grey-carpeted study which is a walk-through to the main bedroom. In here, timber blinds (used throughout) and charcoal tabs dress windows, and there’s a walk-in robe and an en suite with a chocolate vanity topped with latte laminate matching that in the kitchen.

The other two fitted bedrooms (one with bookshelves) are down a carpeted hallway, as are a walk-in closet, separate toilet, laundry with closet and workbench, and the main bathroom in chocolate and latte.

In the light-filled living hub, fab industrial-style pendants embody current trends, while the kitchen is pretty and practical. There’s a walk-in pantry, an island bench, plenty of storage, tiled splashback, dishwasher, underbench oven and gas cooktop.

A gabled pergola above grey-coloured concrete shelters a rustic bar with sink and a potbelly stove and there’s a ceiling fan. This faces a second pergola which is freestanding and snazzed up with planter boxes.

A timber walkway heads from the first pergola, right along the back of the
house, past a sandpit and on to an 8×10-metre Colorbond shed. This has mezzanine storage, two roller doors and
an alarm, and adjoins a fully lined room
with floor tiles – perfect as office or teen retreat.

Side gates allow access to the shed, pittosporums screen the back fence and there’s space left for kids’ play. The block is a handsome 1000 square metres.
