Driver killed in collision near Lancefield

Police are on the scene of a fatal collision which occurred on the Tooborac Road, near Lancefield earlier today.

The incident happened approximately five kilometres north of the Lancefield township just before midday.

Police believe a Toyota Landcruiser, travelling north, collided with a prime mover and trailer, travelling in the opposite direction.

The driver of the Toyota, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.

The driver of the truck has been conveyed to hospital with serious injuries.
