The state government has been handed some poor marks in a post-election report card from the Sunbury Residents Association (SRA).
But Sunbury Labor MP Josh Bull has released a list of his own, saying the 12 months since the state election had been a ‘‘long year of hard work and great accomplishment’’.
Not surprisingly, the pro-split SRA marked the government down for its decision to accept the advice of independent auditors and reverse legislation that would have given Sunbury its own council.
‘‘Broken promise – Labor said in November 2014 they supported Sunbury out of Hume,’’ the report card said.
The SRA said the government also failed by allowing changes that bar Sunbury passengers from catching V/Line services, and criticised perceived inaction about the closed Victoria University campus at Jacksons Hill.
The government was given a B for $3 million in future funding for a science wing at Sunbury College, an A for the Melbourne Metro rail project, and an A+ for cheaper zone 2 public transport fares.
Mr Bull again defended the decision to abandon the Sunbury split, saying other achievements include the $1.3 billion Tullamarine Freeway widening, an extra $2 million for Sunbury schools and a $2.3 million upgrade of Riddell Road.
‘‘This government has kept its word,’’ Mr Bull said.
