BigVMelton – ALREADY ONLINE

Melton is adding exciting elements to its premiership defence in Big V division 1 basketball.

The Thoroughbreds have signed former player Jason Todorov for 2016.

He rejoins the club following an impressive South East Australian Basketball League career for Nunawading.

Todorov, 34, amassed more than 300 games for Nunawading and was a member of the Spectres’ 2011 championship-winning side.

“I’m excited to be given the opportunity to come back to where it all started for me 15 years ago,” Todorov said. “It’s something that I’ve always had in the back of my mind that I’d like to do before my playing days are over.

“I believe the Melton Basketball Association is heading in the right direction.

“There’s talent at both junior and senior levels, and last year the Melton group experienced great success.

“Providing experience to an already closeknit group of guys, I’m optimistic about sharing in the taste of a successful 2016 season.”

It was an exciting week for the Thoroughbreds, who also confirmed premier- ship player Jeff Crowe had re-signed with the club.

Crowe averaged 14 points and six assists a game last year. He scored eight and 14 points respectively in Melton’s championship series against Latrobe City.
