Coming soon after an unseasonal bushfire that devastated the community, Sunday’s Lancefield Agricultural Show was a chance for people to take some much deserved time out.
And, thanks to a $20,000 state government grant, everyone was invited, with the gates at Lancefield Park thrown open and close to 3000 people streaming in.
Traditional horse, livestock, poultry and wood chopping events were again on the card, along with sideshows, art and craft displays and rides.

Would-be archaeologists had the chance to unearth bones in a sandpit “jigsaw dig”.
There was also a Museum Victoria display of fossils found during excavations at the former swamp site.
The festival, including film screenings, art exhibitions and performances, continues this week. Details: goo.gl/on7Nx3
