Premier’s wife visits Romsey Primary School

Catherine Andrews joined Macedon MP Mary-Anne Thomas and dozens of grade 1 pupils for a special storytime in Romsey on Friday.

The wife of Premier Daniel Andrews visited Romsey Primary School in her role as Children’s Book Week ambassador, also joining Ms Thomas to officially announce $112,000 in extra school maintenance funding.

As reported by Star Weekly, up to 10 classrooms at the school will get fresh paint, new carpet and windows.

It follows a $130,000 allocation received last year for gym, art room and canteen upgrades.

Ms Thomas said the money would help teachers deliver a first class education to pupils.

‘’This is a fantastic time for Romsey Primary School as it proudly celebrates 150 years educating the children of Romsey and looks ahead to a bright, confident future,’’ she said.

The school will mark its anniversary with an open weekend from October 22-24.
