Sunbury’s Harley Elliott has been nominated for a 7NEWS Young Achiever Award.
The 10-year-old was nominated for the Saward Dawson Community Service and Social Impact Award for his fundraising efforts.
In 2025, Harley created a 30-day fundraiser for White Ribbon Australia, raising over $8000 for women and children affected by family violence.
Throughout June, Harley ran one kilometre a day, every day, to raise money in order to reach his goal of 30km in 30 days.
Rain, hail, or shine, even while on holiday, he made sure to get his daily run in, and smashed all his fundraising goals while doing it.
Now, Harley has been recognised for the state awards, and he said he was thrilled to be nominated.
“I feel very proud to be nominated,” he said.
“I just like to help people and do things to be kind, but its really nice.“
Harley’s fundraiser gained attention across the Sunbury community, with both Sunbury MP Josh Bull and Hume councillor Jarrod Bell supporting his journey.
“I’m looking forward to the awards night and I’d like to thank everyone for their support. It’s okay if I don’t win, I wish everyone that is nominated good luck.”
The 7NEWS Young Achiever Awards winners will be announced on 1 May.
