Football and netball clubs across the Macedon Ranges have benefitted from the latest round of funding from the state government and the Transport Accident Commission (TAC).
Macedon MP Mary-Anne Thomas announced that Kyneton, Riddells Creek Juniors, Lancefield Juniors, Macedon, Woodend Hesket, Romsey Juniors and Gisborne Giants football netball clubs received funding through the TAC Club Rewards Program, receiving grants between $500 and $8000.
Ms Thomas said the clubs showed their support for road safety throughout the year, including taking part in the TAC’s Road Safety Round.
“Congratulations to all our local clubs,” Ms Thomas said.
“It’s great to see initiatives for safer road environments that encourage collaborative efforts to promote safe behaviours on our roads.”
As part of this year’s program, clubs were asked to start conversations and be part of the campaign to raise awareness of the dangers of speeding, with the tagline ‘Be the Difference’.
This grant can be used for a range of initiatives including education programs, club transport initiatives, new equipment and uniforms.
