Love Letters performing soon

The Cathouse Players are back for another exciting production.

The second production of the year will be Love Letters by A.R Gurney for four intimate matinee performances only.

Beginning with birthday party thank-you notes and summer camp postcards between two dorky third graders Andrew Makepeace Ladd III and Melissa Gardiner, Love Letters offers a unique and memorable theatrical experience.

Set in an era well before the advent of faxes, texts, emails and all forms of social media, it’s a celebration of language.

Words are read aloud, and fly off the pages, as they take us on their 50-year personal journey encompassing love, longing, estrangement and tenderness, revealing so much from what is written, and what is left unspoken.

Romance features strongly throughout, but there’s much more for audiences to discover as this lovely piece unfolds.

For over 30 years this delightful play for two has been continually performed world-wide onstage by an impressive list of luminaries of stage and screen, including Anjelica Huston, Alan Alda, Sigourney Weaver, Martin Sheen, Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson.

Experienced Cathouse members Di Addington (Gaslight) and Frank Sartore (Columbo – Prescription Murder) will put their own spin on A.R. Gurney’s beloved work.

Backstage and Technical expertise is from David Prince, Maggie Browne, Nicole Katiforis and Helen Gramberg.

Love Letters is playing for a strictly limited season of four matinees only on October 18,19, 25 and 26 at the pop-up theatre at the Kyneton Masonic Centre, 7 Yaldwyn Street West at 2pm sharp. Doors open thirty minutes before showtime.

Tickets are between $20 and $25, and include sherries and programs on arrival with the Cathouse Players’ legendary award-winning “High Tea and Bubbles” served at interval by Jackie Turner and her great front of house team.

You can book online at www.trybooking.com/DFLOD or 0494 166 257 for enquiries and special needs.

Cash is preferred if paying at the door, and for your lucky raffle prize ticket.

Companion card is welcome and the carer’s seat must be booked on 0494 166 257.
