A grass and scrub fire resulted in the Bullengarook community being placed on watch and act on Sunday.
CFA responded to the fire on Coffeys Road, Bullengarook about 2.44pm on Sunday, October 5.
Crews arrived to find a spreading grass and scrub fire and got to work containing it.
The fire burned out of control in a south easterly direction, with heavy smoke, before spreading to trees.
The fire got to about 10 hectares in size before crews were able to contain it, with the incident being declared under control just before 5pm.
A watch and act notice was issued for nearby communities which has since been downgraded to a community information message to warn people of the nearby smoke.
A CFA spokesperson confirmed the fire is yet to be declared safe, with crews remaining on scene overnight and continuing into Monday, with a total of 22 units responding to the incident at its peak.
