Police are investigating a serious injury collision in Sunbury on October 2.

Emergency services were called to reports of a car and a truck colliding on Riddell Road, Sunbury about 11am.

The driver and sole occupant of the car was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver and sole occupant of the truck was not injured and remained on scene.

A statement published by Sunbury MP Josh Bull confirmed the road is currently closed in both directions between Jackson’s Creek Bridge and Gisborne Kilmore Road.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision remains ongoing.
