Residents in the Macedon Ranges are lacing up their shoes in preparation for the return of the annual iconic Run The Rock race.
Taking place at Hanging Rock at 7am on Saturday, April 20, runners will be able to take in the beauty of the natural environment while participating in a two, five, 13.5 or 22-kilometre run.
Organiser on behalf of the Macedon Ranges Running Club Paul Mitchell has been involved for almost a decade and is looking forward to another year of the run.
“I’ve been doing the run for about eight years … [and] at the moment I’ve got 55 runners who are registered for the race under the team from the club,” he said.
“I’m feeling good, we’ve been training now for about 12 weeks and the majority of us are doing the 13.5=kilometre run.
Mr Mitchell, who also ran the 13.5-kilometre run last year, said it was a fantastic event and there was a great turn out for organisers Sole Motive.
He said it is important to take individual health into consideration in the race, including training history and experience.
On the day there will be food trucks and drinks, a barbeque, a coffee cart, live music and kids entertainment.
