Diggers Rest pursuit charges laid

A 32-year-old woman has been charged following a pursuit in Diggers Rest on Monday, November 20.

It is alleged the St Albans woman was driving a white Camry travelling along Plumpton Road when she was involved in an altercation with the driver of a Volkswagen Golf about 2.25pm.

The passenger of the Camry, 35-year-old Taylors Lakes man, allegedly threatened the Volkswagen driver with a firearm before they fled towards Taylors Road.

Officers quickly responded to the incident and initiated a pursuit. They successfully deployed stop sticks and the driver lost control, narrowly missing another vehicle, and hitting a tree on the other side of the road.

The impact forced the car to roll several times, ejecting the male passenger from the vehicle. He remains in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver has been charged with more than 20 charges including dangerous driving causing serious injury, reckless conduct endangering life, unlicensed driving, and various drug offences.

She faced court on Tuesday night.
