A fatal house fire occurred at Mt William Road, Goldie on August 5.
Emergency services were called following reports of the fire at about 10.30pm on Saturday night.
A 60-year-old female resident was located deceased in the afternoon the following day. Her exact cause of death and the cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
A second person was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, where he remains in hospital under police guard.
Police said the area has been cordoned off, a crime scene has been established, and police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fire.
