The Sunbury resource recovery centre and landfill will be closed until August 28, while improvements are being made.
In an announcement on July 28, Hume council said the resource recovery centre, tip shop and landfill would be closed from July 30, until 8am August 28.
These facilities will now be managed by Hume council, and it said the focus would be on delivering an excellent experience for residents and customers.
Council said the improvements will maximise resource recovery and provide a safer, more reliable service for the community.
Residents can book a free hard waste collection or use alternative facilities.
