Kyneton Museum’s horse-drawn vehicles will be upgraded after the museum was awarded a $36,000 grant.
The museum, which is run by Macedon Ranges council, announced it received the grant from the Copland Foundation on March 28.
Council’s community director Maria Weiss said the funding will be used over the next 18 months to upgrade vehicles, get new signage, a soundscape and to model horses to display equipment.
“We’re grateful for this funding from the Copland Foundation” Ms Weiss said.
“[It] will boost public knowledge and appreciation of the historical importance of the horse and horse-drawn vehicles and their intertwining with Kyneton’s history.
“The museum’s dedicated exhibitions like this help to solidify the town as a key tourist destination.”
In celebration of the funding, some members of the Kyneton Museum went on horse-drawn buggy ride in a 1890s wagonette in North Woodend.
