Bulla Hill Railway is holding a used toy sale on Sunday, March 19 to raise money for new emergency radios for the trains.

The fundraiser will take place from 11am to 3.30pm at the railway and residents are invited to attend and enjoy a train ride around the 1.5km track.

Volunteer Sue Brabazon said they have received donations from all over Victoria.

“ I’m surprised with how much people are donating, everything from [Thomas and Friends themed] trains, to tracks, to puzzles, to bags,” she said.

Updated radios are needed in case there is an emergency to contact the railway headquarters.

“We have radios but they’re very outdated,” Sue said, “we need to update them to a better standard so we can respond quicker.”

There is free parking, barbeques, picnic tables and public toilets available as well as a train themed playgroup for kids to enjoy.

If you would like to make a donation you can contact Sue on 0412 594 023. Donations will be accepted up to March 14.
