The race for finals spots in the Gisborne and District Cricket Association Johnstone Shield will go down to the final round, with less than a point separating fourth and fifth.
Macedon kept its finals hopes alive with a win against Kilmore on Saturday.
Kilmore had made 138 on day one of the match, Tom Kean the pick of the bowlers for the Cats with four wickets.
The Cats openers made sure they got the points, passing Kilmore’s total without losing a wicket. The Cats finished 6-228 with Gareth De Rosayro top scoring with 92.
While Kilmore remains in the top four, sitting in fourth, the gap has now closed.
The Cats are 0.37 points behind in fifth spot.
The Cats face Eynesbury in the final round, while Kilmore plays Kyneton.
The Tigers all but ended Riddell’s finals hopes on Saturday with a big win.
Having made 223 on day one, the Tigers were able to restrict Riddell to 116. Louis Thompson and David Rakau took three wickets each for the Tigers.
The Bombers were made to follow on and despite going from 1-23 to 5-65 were able to do enough to avoid an outright loss.
The Bombers finished 5-73. Harry Fisher top scored with 21.
Riddell is 10 points outside the top four.
Bacchus Marsh cemented its spot on top with victory against Gisborne.
The Dragons were bowled out for 136 in reply to 285.
Romsey also had a good win, beating Sunbury United.
Having made 215 on day one, the Redbacks then bowled United out for 131. Romsey finished 5-167 in its second innings.
Aintree’s and Eynesbury’s match became a one-dayer after there was no action on day one.
The Eagles made 5-192 from their overs with Tristian Francis top scoring with 78.
Aintree hit the winning runs with one over remaining, finishing 7-193 with a number of players making contributions.
