Round two of Sunbury and Bulla Neighbourhood Fund opens

The second round of the Sunbury and Bulla Neighbourhood Fund has now opened for local community groups.

The program was set up to acknowledge disruption caused by the transportation of soil from the West Gate Tunnel project to the Hi-Qualiy spoil processing facility in Bulla.

In its last round, 26 organisations shared in almost $800,000 worth of funding, which included upgrades for the Bulla CFA and support for the Diwali Festival of lights.

The fund has two categories of partnerships and grants and allows not-for-profit groups to access cash for projects to bring lasting benefits to the region.

The partnerships are for projects over $50,000 and will be available for “improvements to community, sporting and recreation facilities and the local environment”.

The grants will include two opportunities: up to $20,000 will be available for festivals, events and installations, while the up to $50,000 is on offer for one-off projects or activities that aim to “improve community facilities, amenity and participation”.

Applications are now open and close on Monday, March 20. Successful applicants will be announced in June 2023.

Sunbury MP Josh Bull said there had never been a better time to get funding to help a big project off the ground.

“The Sunbury Bulla Neighbourhood Fund is already playing a big difference with some amazing projects supported as part of first round of funding,” he said.
