Sunbury claimed the points in its opening Victorian Turf Cricket Association T20 match. Hosting Burnside Springs, the Roar made 3-145 from its overs with Sajith Kalumpriya top scoring with 41 as all the batters got starts.Subhaan Mateen took two wickets for Burnside Springs. Burnside Springs never seemed likely, restricted to 7-92. Nathan Borg top scored with 25. Jackson Treweek took two wickets for Sunbury.

Macedon Rockies pair Olivia Ogston and Joshua O’Connell have been nominated for the Basketball Victoria Country Basketball League awards. Ten players in each division have been nominated for the most valuable player award and all-star five team award. O’Connell joined the Rockies late in the season playing just six games, including scoring 31 points in round six. Ogston made the move across for the Bacchus Marsh Lions and had an immediate impact for the Rockies. leading the side in scoring.

Bowls

Kyneton Golf won a thriller against Lancefield in the Highlands bowls top division. While only winning one rink, it was enough for Kyneton Golf which claimed the win 61 (13)-55 (3). The win reduces the gap between the two teams, which sit second and third, to nine points. Romsey continued its good form with a big win against Gisborne, winning 65 (14)-44 (2), while Kyneton beat Trentham 58 (13)-46 (3) and Broadford was too good for Kilmore with a 60 (15)-47 (1) win.

VTCA

Sunbury got its second win of the Victorian Turf Cricket Association division 3 season beating East Keilor on Saturday. The Roar restricted East Keilor to 8-139 with Brad Hunter taking 3-35. After being in trouble at 3-32 the Roar steadied to finish 5-140 with more than two overs remaining. The Roar were back in action on Sunday in another one-dayer, against Caroline Springs, after deadline.
