Wineries across the Macedon Ranges are ready to throw open their doors for this year’s re-invigorated Budburst Wine Festival.

From November 18 to 20, punters from across Victoria have the opportunity to meet families and makers, and explore more than 25 wineries in the coolest mainland viticultural region in the country.

Hunter Gatherer Winery owner Brian Martin said the team at his Pipers Creek winery were excited for visitors to make their way to the area, especially after a difficult few years.

“We’ve missed out for the last two years so we’re looking forward to ramping things up again and having a great summer,” Mr Martin said.

“Hopefully our reach extends deeper into Melbourne, and we have more people coming up from Melbourne who haven’t visited wineries in the region before.“

The winery will have the chance to show off a few new drops this year: a rosé, a Malbec and a sparkling pétillant naturel.

Festivalgoers can choose to travel independently around the breathtaking mountain ranges and roads, or hop on a Budburst Hoppa bus and visit up to five wineries on two dedicated hop-on/hop-off routes.

New for this year’s program will be the Daylesford to Kyneton Drive, popping past event hubs in Trentham and Kyneton, as well as Hunter Gatherer.

The hubs at the Kyneton Hotel and Trentham’s Cosmopolitan Hotel will showcase wineries who don’t have physical cellar doors, .

Budbust Blooms will celebrate the opening of the festival on Friday night, November 18. For ticketing and bus information, head to: budburst.com.
