A new netball court is on the way to Eric Boardman Reserve in Sunbury.

The state government is contributing $225,000 towards the delivery of the court, announced by Sunbury MP Josh Bull on Saturday, October 22, alongside Hume council representatives.

The project, welcomed by the Sunbury Kangaroos Football Netball Clubs, is also set to include lighting and seating and lighting.

An additional $25,000 will be provided to support the construction of a synthetic pitch on oval two at Salesian College, home to Rupertswood Cricket Club and Rupertswood Football Netball Club.

“This is a great win for families in our community and builds on our strong record of backing community sport and recreation facilities,” Mr Bull said.

“I’m proud we’re delivering more important local projects.”

Kangaroos’ seniors side shared the announcement on Facebook, saying it was good news for their netballers.

In a Facebook post, Kangaroos’ junior side said they were “very excited” for the upgrades.
