Generosity in Sunbury

A Sunbury business owner is at it again, giving away $80,000 worth of personal protective equipment (PPE) to vulnerable community members.

Sunbury Autobarn owner Adam Mizzi is handing out free face masks and filter packs to senior residents in Sunbury, Diggers Rest, Bulla and the Macedon Ranges to support those who need protection most.

And it’s not just seniors either, he’s also dropping off free masks and antibacterial wipes to food banks across the region as well.

“Physically call and care about others, that’s the message I want to relay – put others before yourself,” Mr Mizzi said.

A Good Samaritan to his community throughout the pandemic, Mr Mizzi last year gave out PPE to local schools and ran food drives for support services in the region as the pandemic made them more vital than ever.

“This year… when the Covid cases were increasing, [we wondered] how we could support the senior citizens,” Mr Mizzi said.

“Two years ago we supported them with free sanitiser, and this year we’re going to be giving away two facemasks… in all the footy colours.

“Collingwood supporters and Richmond supporters, we’ve got rugby union, rugby league colours – they can come into the store and choose any two masks they want.”
