Police seeking assistance following bike crash

Police are asking the public for assistance following a cycling incident on Ashbourne Road in Woodend on Tuesday, July 5 at 4pm.

In a post by the Macedon Ranges Police Services Area Eyewatch Facebook page, police said a 15-year-old cyclist was riding towards High Street when a walker allegedly threw an object into the front wheel of the bike, causing the teen to fall off and fracture both of his elbows.

“Police believe a male aged in his 50s wearing a blue and white checkered shirt walking west along Ashbourne Road may be able to assist police with their Inquiries,” police said.

Police said they are appealing for witnesses to come forward, or anyone who may have dashcam footage to contact Crime Stoppers on 1300 333 000 or the Kyneton Police Station on 5421 2900. Police said to quote incident number 220214468.
