Community members with a passion for Stanley Park in Mount Macedon have been encouraged by Macedon Ranges Council to join the Stanley Park Community Asset Committee.
The park is a bushland reserve of about 6.5 hectares, containing ecologically significant and unique grassland, good quality riparian and woodland native vegetation.
Stanley Park attracts visitors from near and far to view its waterfall, take a bushwalk, picnic at the barbeque facilities or to use the playground.
In a statement, council said committee responsibilities include the maintenance of garden beds and bushland areas of the park and the removal of litter.
“Members will be appointed for a maximum duration of three years, and will be eligible for reappointment at the end of this term,” council said.
“Council will remain responsible for maintenance of most of the physical assets in the site.”
Nominations close Friday, July 29. Head to mrsc.vic.gov.au/yoursay.
