A female pedestrian was struck by a tipper truck and trailer in Gisborne on Friday, April 1, and remains in a serious but stable condition.
Emergency services attended the collision at the intersection of Aitken and Hamilton streets about 5pm, police said.
The pedestrian, a woman in her 40s from Woodend, was crossing the roadway when she was hit by the truck travelling north along Aitken Street, police said.
According to police, the woman became trapped under the truck for a short time before being freed and airlifted to hospital with initially critical injuries.
The cause of the collision is being investigated, police said.
