Do you know someone in Sunbury or the Macedon Ranges who takes time out of their day to help others?

Nominations are open for the 2021 volunteering awards, with Victorians having pulled together like never before the past two years, supporting each other through COVID-19.

Volunteering Victoria, which runs the awards, says now is the time to say thank you to the thousands of volunteers, organisations and leaders who have made a difference.

For the first time, the 2021 volunteering awards are being combined with the Premier’s volunteer champion awards to recognise and honour the thousands of people across our state who give their time, energy, and skills to support others.

There are seven categories this year.

For individuals the categories are volunteering pathways to skills and community inclusion, inclusive volunteering, volunteering leadership and volunteering partnerships.

For volunteer-involving organisations the award categories are COVID-19 support and connection, COVID-19 resilience and COVID-19 innovation.

Nominations close January 14 at 5pm.
