Ranges to receive home care package

Sunbury and Cobaw Community Health (SCCH) is helping older residents access the assistance they need, with the organisation announcing the extension of its home care package service to the Macedon Ranges.

For the past four years, SCCH has been working with the federal government to roll-out the home care package scheme in Sunbury.

This scheme provides an allocation of funds to individuals in need, so they can reach suitable services at their convenience.

These services include, but are not limited to: exercise groups, help with housework and property maintenance.

SCCH community connections manager Carly Visscher said the home care package scheme is all about helping people in the community meet their needs and goals.

“With over 40 years’ experience delivering a range of health and wellbeing services in the local community, we offer a trusted, personalised support where the individual has choice and control over their care,” Ms Visscher said.

The roll-out of the program across the country was boosted by the findings of the Royal Commission into Aged Care, which recommended a further 80,000 home care packages be distributed over the next two years.

SCCH will be hosting a community information session in Sunbury on Tuesday, October 5 at 10am.

The session will be made available online if in-person attendance is not possible.
