Severe wind expected to lash the Macedon Ranges, again

A severe weather warning has been issued for the Macedon Ranges, with damaging winds expected to lash the region later today.

The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) said residents can expect south-westerly winds averaging between 60-70km/h, with peak gusts of 90km/h this afternoon.

The State Emergency Service (SES) advises that people should avoid all travel, stay inside their homes and away from windows.

SES also recommends that if out of the home, residents should stay clear of fallen power lines.
