Lancefiled Romsey Lions Club members are rolling up their sleeves to keep the streets of the Macedon Ranges clean.

Earlier this month, a group of volunteers spent three hours collecting roadside litter along Melbourne-Lancefield Road.

Lancefield Romsey Lions Club vice president Angela Haywood has been with the organisation for 10 years and she said she’s loved being part of a team that gives back to the community.

“I’ve always liked the thought of being helpful,” she said,

“I have a lot of respect for the Lions Club and what they do for the community.”

Ms Haywood added that they do a whole range of activities designed to give back to the community.

On one occasion, Ms Haywood and a team of volunteers helped a local woman to clear her property after her home was burnt down.

Ms Haywood said the organisation is always looking for more members and that they’re open to anyone joining.

The Lions Club’s next monthly meeting is on June 8.
