Lee MacDonald, principal of Tylden Primary School, is feeling very proud of the resilience shown by students and families during a challenging year.
“Their resilience has definitely been on show this year,” Mrs MacDonald says, “with our students showing us how they can persevere and solve problems in creative ways.
“Our teachers create an exceptional learning environment – during the pandemic as well –where every child is inspired to achieve their best. Our students work together to accomplish great things.
“And we offer strong literacy and numeracy foundations. These mean that Tylden PS students become inquisitive global citizens.”
She says that family/school partnerships are strong at Tylden PS, which was established more than 150 years ago and has a reputation as a friendly and welcoming place.
“There’s an enduring tradition of parent/carer involvement in classroom and extra-curricular activities. The pride our community has for our school is evident everywhere.
“Families are also attracted by the pleasant, rural environment, and value the strong sense of community and pursuit of high academic standards.
“Students particularly enjoy the spacious grounds and gardens that are so conducive to play, exploration and relaxation.”
The school isn’t able to hold school tours right now, but Mrs MacDonald invites parents and carers to call her to talk about 2021 enrolments.
