An Archibald prize-winner’s artwork will be up for grabs at the 46th annual Woodend Lions Art Show.
Held across the Labour Day weekend, the art show will this year raise funds for The East Gippsland Emergency Fund and BlazeAid – an organisation that works with families in rural Australia after natural disasters.
Club president Barry McDonald said there would be “hundreds” of art works on display across the three-day event.
“Woodend has a large community of artists. We’re always gratified by the range of artists that we get.
“This year we have a prize for the raffle that is from Archibald winner Rose Wilson who has donated her painting for the raffle.”
Artists from across the Macedon Ranges, Bendigo and Victoria will have artworks on display.
Mr McDonald said the art show was a proven success.
“I would imagine we would get a couple thousand of people and it’s a gold coin donation to get in,” he said.
Visitors to the art show will be able to purchase watercolour paintings, acrylic art work, oil paintings, drawing and sculptures.
The art show is on Saturday, March 7 to Sunday, March 8 from 10am-5pm and on Monday, March 9 from 10am-4pm at the St Ambrose Hall, 49 Anslow Street, Woodend.
