Big boost for local CFA crews

Six CFA’s across the Macedon Ranges will receive much needed tankers and equipment.

Emergency Services Minister Lisa Neville announced last week 294 grants totaling more than $13.75 million would be provided to CFA’s across Victoria as part of the state government’s 2019-20 Volunteer Emergency Services Equipment Program.

The program funds operational equipment in addition to vehicles, trucks, tankers, watercraft, trailers and minor facility upgrades.

The Bullengarook and SpringfieldCFAs will both receive a medium tanker and the Romsey CFA will receive a field command vehicle.

Clarkefield’s CFA will have a concrete driveway built, in addition to receiving shade sails and a quick fill pump site.

The Mount Macedon CFA will receive a defibrillator and the Toolern Vale CFA will receive a projector and screen.

Macedon MP Mary-Anne Thomas thanked the brigades for their continued support and dedication to the community.

“CFA volunteers across the Macedon Ranges region make a vital contribution in protecting our communities,” she said.

“That’s why we are providing brigades with the essential equipment they need to carry out their work.

“Summer is here and it is important that families across the Macedon Ranges have their fire plans prepared.”

The grants are open to organisations across the state.
