PETstock is holding its annual microchip blitz for your fur babies.
Dogs, cats and small animals, including rabbits and guinea pigs, can be microchipped for $10.
PETstock Assist charity and events co-ordinator Jess Guilfoyle said she hoped the discounted price, down from the usual $80, would encourage responsible pet ownership.
“Microchipping is mandatory in most states, however, thousands of pets still remain non-microchipped despite the introduction of new laws,” she said.
“If you haven’t had your pet microchipped, this is a fantastic opportunity to book an appointment at your local PETstock store to ensure your pet’s safety should they ever get lost.”
PETstock national project manager Christine Robertson said it was important to microchip all pets.
“The microchip blitz aims to offer peace of mind for pet owners while reducing strain on rescue groups, who are often already understaffed and underfunded,” she said.
The discounted microchipping will be available at Sunbury PETstock, 85 Vineyard Road on October 19. Appointments are essential.
