Wallan overcame a determined Riddell side to win through to the Riddell District Netball League semi finals.
While the Magpies entered the elimination final as favourites having finished third, the Bombers were up for the fight.
The Magpies got the jump on the Bombers in the first quarter, before the Bombers worked their way into the game.
The Magpies were able to keep their noses in front throughout, but couldn’t break the game open in the first three quarters. They would get out to a five to six goal lead, before the Bombers would peg it back to one or two goals.
Both teams were careless with the ball at times, with a number of turnovers created allowing sides to get a run on.
At three quarter time the margin was three goals in the favour of the Magpies and it looked like it would go down the wire.
The Magpies though, saved their best to last and were able to run away with the win in the final quarter. They turned the three goal lead, into a 15 goal win, winning 46-31.
Chloe Meulenmeesters was the best shooter on court, putting up 36 goals at 77 per cent accuracy.
For the Bombers, both shooters struggled at times with accuracy. Tara O’Grady finished with 22 goals.
The Magpies, who now have a double chance, will now face Rupertswood in a semi final, with a spot in the grand final on the line.
The Sharks beat Macedon in the qualifying final.
