Riddell in important win over Macedon

Riddell continued its strong run of form with a solid win against Macedon in the Riddell District Football League.

In windy conditions the Bombers proved too strong after quarter time to win 11.11 (77)-8.6 (54).

After an even first quarter, the Bombers dominated much of the play for the next three quarters.

The ball spent plenty of time in the Bombers half, as they repelled Macedon across the half forward line.

The Bombers though weren’t able to fully make the most of the inside 50 count and were unable to blow the lead out.

The Cats looked ready to attack in the final quarter, with the Bombers down on rotations due to injuries.

The Bombers though were able to hold on and come away with the important win.

Ethan Foreman, Paul Sahlberg and Lachlan Henson kicked two goals apiece for the Bombers.

The Burras kicked the only four goals of the final quarter to get the win.

The Burras move up to fourth, while the Sharks slip to fifth.

Romsey, Wallan and Broadford all had big wins against Lancefield, Melton Centrals and Rockbank respectively in the other matches.
