Art for everyone

Artist Richard Chamerski will showcase his work at the Woodend Art Group Winter Exhibition during the Queen’s Birthday long weekend.

Chamerski, who describes himself as a self-taught artist, has been with the group for more than 10 years.

“I class myself as an impressionist,” he said.

“Most of my works are landscapes. But I don’t paint gum trees – they just don’t inspire me.”

Chamerski (pictured) said there would be a “diverse range” of artwork on display at the exhibition to tickle anyone’s fancy.

“There’s anything from what I do, straight through to modern work, and there’s quite a diverse range of subjects and also a diverse range of mediums – pastel, water colour and multimedia,” he said. “There will be demonstrations going on and the artists will show how they work in their medium.”

Chamerski will demonstrate his oil paints “en plein air” – outside – on Sunday, June 9.

The exhibition will be on June 8 to June 10, 10am-4pm each day at the Woodend Art Group’s gallery, Woodend Railway Station, Urquhart Street.

Entry will be a gold coin donation.
