Romsey Football and Netball Club players will swap their red and black uniforms for pink versions in the club’s ninth annual Pink Day.
But pint-sized Isla will be making an extra effort to help the fight against breast cancer by having her hair shaved off.
After witnessing previous Pink Days, Isla, 7, felt inspired to contribute in her own way.
“I’ve seen my mum and all of her friends do it … so I decided to help this year,” she said.
Isla’s mum, Hope Evans, said her daughter has made many people proud of her decision to say farewell to her hair.
“This is something that she’s come up with all on her own,” Ms Evans said.
“She’s been to every Pink Day, she knows what it’s about … and the emotion that goes into putting such a big event on.
“So we’re really proud that she’s decided to contribute in her own little way.”
Isla has set up a GoFundMe Page with a target of $3000 for the Breast Cancer Network Australia.
Ms Evans said Isla’s donations would make a big impact on the overall total the sports club raised.
“Our Pink Day’s generally raise anywhere between $10,000 to $18,000,” she said.
“We have a ladies afternoon tea and we have raffles and auctions … all the items are donated by local businesses and supporters of our event.”
