The Macedon Ranges turned red and black earlier this week, with Essendon Football Club taking over the area as part of its AFL Community Camp.
The Bombers spent time in Kyneton, Woodend and surrounding areas on Monday and Tuesday as part of the community camp which encourages football clubs to get involved in the community.
On Monday players attended a civil reception, before heading to Hanging Rock.
That night they attended Woodend and Kyneton junior football trainings to help run some drills, before attending a community camp dinner meet and greet, run by Kyneton Football Netball Club.
On Tuesday, the playing group first attended a super clinic in Kyneton, which included children from Kyneton Primary Schools.
They then split up and headed to different around the Woodend area.
Some players visited schools, some the local radio station, the Woodside Park Stud and Woodend Golf Club.
Newham Primary School’s Russel Dwyer said it was a great opportunity for the students to have football players attend the school.
Essendon players including star forward Joe Daniher spent time running a clinic for grade one and two students.
“Hopefully the kids are able to use it as inspiration to do their best. That’s one of our mottos.
“The kids were pretty excited.”
