Celebrating the opening of Kyneton Community Park

The opening of Kyneton Community Park will be celebrated with a garden party this Saturday.

The free event will offer an afternoon of fun that will include clowns, a magic show, face-painting, teddy bear picnic storytime and a wildlife show by Wild Action Zoo.

A scavenger map course has been created to encourage children to explore the park.

Music will be provided by the Kyneton Municipal Band and Battle of the Bands winners Lazerlips. Croquet and petanque will be taught, there will be tours of the botanical gardens and food vans will be on hand.

Macedon Ranges mayor Jennifer Anderson said the garden party was about celebrating the community’s efforts in creating the park.

“There will be something for everyone on the day so come along, have a try at croquet or one of the many other activities,” she said. “Take a stroll around the gardens and along the river and immerse yourself in this special community place.”

The event is eco-friendly, so visitors are urged to leave their cars at home and bring their own picnic cups and plates.
